I went to Taiwan for the first time during Spring break. Originally, the plan was only to visit my girl-friends and some tourist stuff. However, I got to know new friends there and someone happens to have 2 cars equipped with Innotech Performance exhausts and know the company quite well. Knowing that I’m into cars, he decided to take me to IPE factory while I was staying in Tainan.
Their factory is located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. They may be too hidden to find if you don’t have someone guiding you.
Inside the showroom, there’s a Porsche GT3 and a Aventador, both are equipped with IPEexhaust.
A display area shows the tip options they offer.
Later, I was introduced to Gary, the co-founder of IPE. He showed me around the factory and explained to me how the production process goes (even though IPE does not offer parts for my Z4 E89).
There’s a code of ethic on their meeting room.
They were in the last stage of developing exhaust kit for the new Porsche SUVs. Outside is a Macan they just tested.
Right by the entrance is their shipping station. All received material go through here before being sent to different production areas. Beside is the finished product storage.
A Cayenne S was being tested. Gary said soon they will have their own dyno. Right now, all reports for new exhausts are tested at another dyno shop close by.
I also recorded a short sound clip which can be found below.
Finished and half-finished products can be seen everywhere in the factory.
This is where OEM exhausts are taken apart for measurement to make sure all IPE products are fitted perfectly.
There are quite a few aftermarket car part manufactures in Kaohsiung. Due to some reason, I didn’t visit more of them. However, Taiwan is definitely the place I will go again. Hopefully soon in the future.
